Oh, I've tested this.

A Rose can heal from another Rose's blood, but forming a closed circuit unto oneself, as it were, doeeessssn't work. It has to be another body. I haven't exactly experimented with our... less blooded population, in this regard, but I would also assume blood being present to be, ah, necessary.
