[ Angel Devil. ] [ chatcube, or action. ] [ if you're visiting the rose barn, look for the door with the creepy bat-and-angel-wing sigil on it. Knock first! Or get zapped. ]
[ indefinite, fragmented murmuring ensues about the works of lord Avon, or if he should orbit AROUND the works of lord Avon showing the innovations he inspired to highlight the depths of his influence, or if he should zag hard and pull out some of the Ipsen travelogs, or what about the easiest of easy reading, the modern Lindblum gil dreadfuls? Base as they are, they reflect a primal distillation of popular archetypes, and maybe they'd be a tempting "in" to the world of glittering, golden, Gaian high concept theatre... or would it be fun to start with the densest, most referential political comedy he could find, and slowly spin out all the context, then revisit that and enjoy watching Muffin click all the pieces together...? What about starting with something that reminds him of the pasture? What about starting with something with a gryphon, in the plot, or demons, to contrast the idea he had of them before here, or, or. (ohr ohr.) ]
The um, "The Feud of the Siren and the Harpy." Is like an opera, but the drama and music's really good. Is famous for its twist and for how hard is to sing the daughters' parts.
[ > is famous for the twist > angel devil is naturally completely culturally insulated from the twist > will he see the twist coming~? will it blow his mind? > nobody around who can possibly spoil the twist until muffin gets to show him it the way he wants to show it to him. ]
For the width of the range, or the height, I wonder... Hum me your favorite tune from it~?
Both? Daughters sing as trio. Have to be good on own and together.
[muffin is NOT going to try humming three roles at once, but he starts whistling a small aria. it starts off quiet, then it builds in speed and volume, becoming aggressive, the song of someone getting into a rage— or would be, if it wasn't covered a bird chirping in his indoor voice.]
I see an Eidolon, in my mind's eye. A world-spirit in the form of a woman, that answers when you call to the right stone. She carries a harp, and its mere strum can addle the mind...
[but he laughs, wiggling around so he can point and gesture at the sky, imagining a stage in front of them]
Siren isn't Eidolon or spirit or god. Is aging noblewoman! Her plumage is rich, her clothes are expensive, but her fashion isn't trendy. Was fashionable years ago, when she was at height of her fame. Still lives in past.
