What's stopping us is the lack of a volunteer willing to be butchered twice.

Also, once the soul is removed from the encoded ball, it may turn back into plant material and no longer work to grow a body around it.

I got the contact info for the Disguise Demon. It thrives on despair, so I'm sure I have enough laying around to pay it with.

Crescendo also suggested summoning the Doki-Doki Demon for help, since she's kinder than most. If she trades in love, then... well. I'm at a loss there.

In other news, I want visit Ceo and negotiate a truce. How much have you heard about the wolf sanctuary?

There's a fortress out in the mist where the surviving wolfkind civilians are hiding out from the wolf king, and might be Ceo's base of operations.

They've been using body parts of the Holy Beasts, like Forever Snake scales and stuff, to make masks that keeps them from going insane after contracting lycanthropy. They're desperately low on food and other resources.

I want to go to the sanctuary and negotiate with Ceo. Food, medicine, and materials in exchange for his full cooperation.

Oh, I got to wear one of those masks! It mostly effected my impulse control, if I have to be honest. More chance to think, between when I see, then move.

I suppose our wandering names might have some simarity to Holy Beasts, then...

Ha, ha... I'd love to. Why not? It's not like I have silly grudges over right and wrong to cry at him over. We'll have to prepare quite a lot of meat.

Apparently they want fruit, too. Hannya said some of them nearly came to blows over a single grape.

My thought was to take them a no-strings-attached care package as a token of goodwill, with fruit, meat, wolfsbane, limbus, maybe even a few scales or whatever, if we can find any. Whatever we can easily spare.

My original plan was that I could carry you, me, and Charon over there on my back, the way I have before. But yesterday an extra-long walk in the meadow made me feel like my spine was about to disintegrate, so I think that's off the table.

I don't trust that I'll be physically up to the journey, otherwise. I've already spoken to Charon about the possibility of you two going together, so he can handle the negotiation and you can handle the firepower.

As annoying as it is to me, personally, I still think you're one of the strongest and most capable people in this place. I think you and him together would have the best shot at pulling this off successfully.

And by contrast, you're quite good at the diplomatics. My talent in getting people to do what I want is... more in baiting them, with the undeniable temptation of what I can offer. I despise beseeching.
