It's been over a year since I put one of these together by hand... I keep having to catch myself on the steps I have to skip due to being in-- a different world, different circumstances... but! One makes do.
[ at first, it's too dark back there. what angie leads him to seems like it's just a dark shape, vaguely akin to a humanoid. it's hanging on a scarecrow frame, though the both of them come up over it's... head? area?--
anyway, he waves his hand, and a few little wisps of eerie light appear around the two of them-- revealing THIS.

A motley, yes, I know, but one that doesn't rot, can walk, talk, and if everything goes to plan... do everything you and I could conceivably do, were one to inhabit it.
...well, not me, for... several reasons, but-- one of us, certainly, hn?
Yes. It would take... more than I'm willing to do-- alone, to test it all properly, but as for verifying proper locomotion...
[ he rests his hand briefly on his chest as he thinks... ]

his hair ruffles, a bit, from a phantom of a breeze that touches nothing else.
...for some reason, this, of all things, takes his solemn concentration. there's the impression that whatever he's doing to test it is, perhaps, something a little more complicated than he made it sound.
The ties holding the Black Mage to the frame pull loose, tugged apart by an unseen force, and it drops down from the frame holding it up-- and stumbles. Then... it slowly rights itself. Its head lolls. There's only darkness under the hat.
It takes one step, improbably holding up despite being a weird straw and cloth doll with questionable amounts of actual leg. Another. Then--
Pitches forward onto the ground, as Angie abruptly gives a pained hiss and opens his eyes, letting all of whatever he was doing go. His hand's went back to his sternum. ]
--ugh. Should. Be nothing, anyway, except for the fact that I've had my wings clipped by a certain bumbling sheep...
[ if angie was not literally asking minuet to poison himself and die rn he would pick up that hand like it was a dead leaf and simply drop it off of his person, getting pawed on when he's actively in pain is the opposite of comforting-- ]
--it's nothing. A twinge. [ dismissive wave. ] That... likely won't happen while you're in there, as long as you don't think about what you're doing too hard. You already know how to walk, one just needs... to trust the body to listen when you tell it.
That's right! An active one is completely out of my hands. There is enough magic in this one it'll stay as one whole piece, unless you start letting something really try and rip it up, but-- that's any body, isn't it?

The head is just a big bundle of straw, held together with twine, but there's.
